Liebmann Optical Company established in 1977 and located in Easthampton, MA, is a member of the Jenoptik AG group of companies. Liebmann manufactures custom, high precision optics.

We are looking to hire an experienced Quality Assurance Manager. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work closely with customers' quality representatives to meet the contract requirements as well as internal requirements for quality, inspection, and certification (including managing documentation package, adding necessary steps to work orders, and signing the Certificate of Conformance).
• Supervise inspectors in department.
• In charge of incoming inspection of materials (glass and metal), in-process inspections, final inspections, and paperwork.
• Update and maintain Quality System, reporting any necessary changes to Senior Management.
• Establish and maintain tracking systems to measure scrap rate and rework rate (yield).
• Quality audits (internal and external with ISO registrars and customers).
• Qualification of approved suppliers from QA/ISO point of view.
• Create and maintain organized inspection files.
• Coordinate the investigation of any out-of-specification results and non-conforming material reports to determine root of cause and create an action plan.
• Initiate projects and programs that promote continuous improvement in quality and productivity.
• Quality training of all employees.
• Certification of the overall quality of products produced.
• Work with sales on RMA's.
• Perform inspection and analysis to determine facility compliance to standards and policies.
• Working with the Manufacturing Managers, schedule calibrating and tests for line equipment.
• Manage CPAR's.
  
  

Requirements

• 4-year technical degree.
• 6 - 10 years industrial experience; Optical experience a plus.
• At least 5 years experience in Quality Engineering.
• ISO or AS experience a plus.
• Lean manufacturing experience a plus.
• Supervisory experience a plus.
• U.S. Citizenship.
  

This position reports to the General Manager.
