Description
The optical design engineer is responsible for the design of refractive and diffractive micro-optical components from the customer concept thru design and tolerancing. Ability to work with a multi-national team in new product development.
Skills and Responsibilities Include:
-- Deg in optical engineering or comparable deg in engineering or science;
-- Experience in programming languge required (e.g. C, C++, or MatLab);
-- Experience in CAD package preferred (AutoCad or Solid Works)
-- Experience with optical design software (VirtualLab, Zemax, CODE V, GLAD;
-- Excellent technical knowledge of micro-optics fabrication and lasers desired;
-- Skilled in layout and design of optical devices using mask layout software;
-- Experience in the design of micro-optical components beneficial;
-- Willingness and flexibility to work part time in Germany and US;
-- Independent and self-motivated;
-- Knowledge of the German language beneficial;
